Hi! I'm Caro.

I am a multi-disciplinary artist and creative. To put it simply, I like to do everything. I am an internationally qualified makeup artist and hairdresser, and I love creating with various mediums like photography and fashion.

My makeup journey started in the theatres of Somerset West, South Africa where I grew up as a drama kid and dancer. However, my true passion lay in transforming myself and my young co-stars into a myriad of creatures and characters through makeup. It was in those moments behind the scenes that I discovered my love for the transformative power of makeup and special effects. I officially started my makeup and hair career in 2020 at Kohl Makeup Academy in Cape Town where I received my VTCT diploma in Media Hair and Makeup.

Along the way I fell in love with hair, and knew I had to learn more. In 2022, I took the leap and began my journey in hairdressing at Stellenbosch Hair Academy, where I honed my skills in colouring, cutting, and styling hair, ultimately earning my ITEC diploma in Hairdressing.

Throughout my artistic career, I have had the privilege of working on various local films and television programs, where I could use my makeup and hairstyling talents to bring characters to life. Additionally, I have had the joy of enhancing the beauty of clients on their special occasions, including weddings and events.

Currently, I am a part-time Junior Stylist at Alchemy Hair Studio in Somerset West, where I continue to immerse myself in the world of hairstyling. The rest of my days are dedicated to my freelance work as a makeup artist, specializing in special effects makeup and prosthetics.

My true passion lies in storytelling through my art. Whether it’s through the transformative power of makeup, the artistry of hairstyling, or other creative mediums like photography and illustration, I aspire to weave captivating narratives that leave a lasting impression.
